What I learned
In my first accounting course, I completed an extensive Excel-based project focused on financial reporting for a hospital organization. The assignment required me to prepare key financial statements, including the statement of operations, statement of net assets, and balance sheet, using a set of provided financial data. Through this project, I developed a strong foundation in financial analysis and gained hands-on experience working with Excel to organize and interpret complex data. I learned how different financial statements are interconnected and how they provide insight into an organization’s overall financial health. Additionally, this experience strengthened my attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to apply accounting concepts in a practical, real-world healthcare context.
