What I learned
I was assigned to present a “Topic of the Day,” where I was assigned to focus on the role of a Supervisor of Lab Microbiology at Dupont Hospital. My presentation highlighted the daily responsibilities of this position, including overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring quality control and accuracy of test results, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Through this presentation, I gained a better understanding of the critical role laboratory leadership plays in patient care and overall hospital operations. I also developed my public speaking and presentation skills, learning to communicate complex information clearly and professionally. Additionally, this experience helped me appreciate the importance of leadership, organization, and attention to detail within a clinical laboratory setting.
